Ready to take your pharmacy technician career to the next level?
This role steps out of the typical pharmacy technician dispensing role to work directly with patients and the care team to ensure medications are available, and affordable, for transplant patients prior to discharge. This role also rotates through the transplant clinic space to ensure transplant infusion medications are ordered and received in a timely fashion. Typical duties of the transplant technician specialist include all of the following for admitted and clinic transplant patients: - complete thorough medication histories for transplant patients - ensure outpatient prescriptions are billed appropriately for the transplant population to reduce out of pocket costs to patients - complete prior authorizations, peer-to-peers as required by the patient's insurance - overrides - patient assistance programs - coordinate care with outpatient and specialty pharmacies as needed - supply chain management of white-bagged medications for transplant infusion - meet with clinic patients to assist in reduction of out-of-pocket costs or other compliance barriers (assist with enrolling patients in automatic refills or home delivery programs) This role is scheduled dayshift M-F and is best for a technician that is motivated to complete work independently to ensure patients care needs are met.
