Texas Oncology is looking for a Nurse Supervisor (RN) to join our team! This position will support the Clinical Medical Oncology Department at our 4101 James Casey Street #100 location in Austin, Texas with occasional travel to Lakeway. This is a full-time Monday-Friday position with no weekends, call, or major holidays.

What does the Nurse Supervisor do?

Coordinates all activities related to nursing functions and patient care, within budgetary constraints. Adheres to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Supervises nursing staff that provides professional nursing care to patients. Must recognize physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of care. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Responsibilities

The essentialduties andresponsibilities:

  • Clinical Oversight
  • Oversees the clinical operations for all nursing clinical support activities.
  • Ensure adequate staffing/FTEs for assigned clinics
  • Maintains effective nursing staff coverage and operating costs for the practice and/or satellites within budgetary parameters.
  • Ensure clinical operations and practice consistent with organizational objectives
  • Monitors and evaluates patient satisfaction and quality assurance measures.
  • Staff Development
  • Coordinates, implements, and assists with staff training, in-services, and internal developmental programs for nursing staff.
  • Assists with annual performance evaluations for nursing department staff.
  • Serves as mentor/preceptor and provides day to day guidance to less experienced nurses
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Nurse Supervisor will have the following background and experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred.
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Minimum 5 year actively practicing as a registered nurse., including at least 3 years in oncology.
  • 1 years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Current or pending oncology certification preferred.

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
