GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

The Division of Women's Health at Brigham and Women's Hospital is seeking a Research Assistant I to help with study projects on a temporary basis. The Division of Women's Health is the academic home of BWH faculty with a primary research or clinical interest in women's health.

There is an immediate need for a per diem (up to 10 hours per week) Research Assistant for the Bridges to Moms Program. Bridges to Moms addresses social determinants of health for women who are pregnant, poor and homeless or at risk of homelessness and receiving maternity care at BWH. Specifically the program provides housing search/support, transportation to medical appointments, assistance with food sources, monitoring of personal safety and mental health issues, and connecting to long-term primary care. The BTM Program collaborates with other programs at the BWH including Obstetrics, Medicine, Pediatrics, Nutrition, Mental Health

This position will be based primarily in Division of Women's Health at Brigham and Women's Hospital in the Longwood Medical Area. We are looking for up to 10 hours per week to handle special projects.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • The temporary RA's responsibilities include any of the following:
  • Clinical data extraction from EPIC.
  • Research-related tasks include: data collection and management; assisting with progress reports; and data analysis, as needed.
  • Assist the Bridges to Moms team in gathering and analyzing data for the annual Patient Feedback Survey. Tasks for this project include phone calls to patients to gather feedback, organizing data, presenting results in a final document for dissemination, and other.
  • Pull additional date from the Electronic Medical Record (EPIC) related to program services impact

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's degree required; MPH a plus.
  • Candidates with a strong clinical interest or background in women's health and/or ethnographic research are encouraged to apply.


SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:



  • Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational/time management skills and close attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings
  • Experience with EPIC data extraction is required.
