Director of Material Allocation

As a Director of Material Allocation, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing strategies related to production planning, material allocation, and inventory management ... all while improving data and forecasting accuracy. This role will develop and implement material and inventory forecasts (from short-term production needs to long-range planning/inventory projection and forecasts) to support network construction, field operations, and forecasted sales. This role will also take on the development, implementation, and maintenance of inventory replenishment programs - supporting our distribution center and market warehousing operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Optimize material availability, effectively manage enterprise-wide inventory, driving solutions in forecasting and allocation tools to support operational goals and optimize working capital.
  • Lead a team of analysts, planners, and procurement specialists, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
  • Lead staff to develop effective forecast models based on production needs and long-range production plans.
  • Provide monthly material forecasts to key suppliers to secure production capacity and on-time material delivery.
  • Align planning efforts with product development, sales, marketing, field operations, and outside plant teams to ensure monthly production targets are achieved.
  • Work with leadership to design and develop the long-term inventory forecasting and material needs for OSP, ISP, & Network Operations and NOC
  • Determine best practices on implementing changes throughout the planning and procurement team that will enable growth and efficiency.
  • Implement process improvements solutions to improve planning and allocation forecast accuracy.
  • Communicate material and inventory forecasts to finance and warehousing teams.
  • Use a combination of data analytics and real-time production inputs to measure and improve material planning and allocation performance.
  • Monitor and report changes in production plans, sales forecasts, and product development strategies.
  • Subject matter expert on using Oracle EBS for material planning, allocation, and inventory modeling.
  • Effectively plan product launches and product retirements
  • Lead monthly vendor forecast meetings.
  • Manage department operating budget and quarterly updates.
  • Address material allocation issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to ensure material planning and allocation models are based on a diverse set of business inputs and meet stakeholder expectations.
  • All other duties as assigned.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's degree required, business administration or supply chain preferred, MBA preferred.
  • 5 years managing teams and implementing change through active supply chain organization.
  • Subject matter expert of Oracle ERP/MPR system knowledge and experience required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.


ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:



  • Material planning and allocation experience required; telecom, utility, or construction industry experience preferred.
  • Certification in supply chain management and/or planning and forecasting preferred.
  • Proven record of initiating and executing improvement projects.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work cross functionally to drive collaboration and issue resolution.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Willingness to work as a team and independently.
