Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $74,200 - Midpoint: $100,200 (Salaried E12)

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm

Job Summary: The Manager of AMSTI creates and coordinates the operation of Alabama Math, Science, Technology Initiative (AMSTI) site effectively. Supervises personnel. Provides budgeting and accounting. Administers programs and activities. Evaluates personnel and programs. Completes reporting.

Additional Department Summary: The Manager AMSTI creates and coordinates the operation of Alabama Math, Science, Technology Initiative (AMSTI) site effectively. Supervises personnel. Provides budgeting and accounting. Administers programs and activities. Evaluates personnel and programs. Completes reporting. This position is referred to as AMSTI Director by the Alabama State Department of Education

Required Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in education, math, or science and two (2) years of K-12 education experience. Teacher Certificate issued by the Alabama State Department of Education.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Skills and Knowledge: Experience in fiscal, program, resource and personnel management in a leadership role is preferred. Experience and certification in leadership/administration is preferred. Possess extensive skills in technology (including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and website management) and has the aptitude for learning new technologies. Experience in creating, evaluating, and facilitating professional learning programs and opportunities for administrators and teachers in public K-12 schools. Ability to coordinate the research, development, design, and delivery of effective professional learning opportunities for K-12 educators. Strong interpersonal skills in synergizing with professionals internal and external to the university environment; capacity to exercise sound judgment, act with integrity, and show initiative; proficient in collaborating and promote collaboration among staff in a variety of projects; and, finally, the ability to delegate and empower employees to manage their environment for effective results.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Education, certification in educational administration and five (5) years of experience teaching in a public K-12 school is preferred. Experience in leadership or administration preferred.
