  • Masterrsquo;s or Doctoral (preferred) degree in related science-field from an accredited college or university
  • 2 years teaching experience in related course work
  • Experience preparing and administering lectures and exams via online course management software (e.g. Blackboard).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Teach designated graduate course(s) during indicated semester(s).
  • Work in collaboration with College staff and faculty to develop and/or review course and assessment materials, including laboratory sections if applicable.
  • Produce a course syllabus which should include the course objectives, outline of course content, testing dates, course requirements for final grade determination, required or recommended resource texts, etc.
  • Provide the Graduate College with information needed to order the course textbook(s).
  • Provide the Graduate College with materials for copying or printing at least one week prior to the course or class start date.
  • Provide a final course grade for each student by the specified date according to the Graduate Collegersquo;s grade scale.
  • Participate in the course evaluation process.
  • Provide guidance and supervision for teaching/laboratory assistants if applicable.
  • For course(s) with a laboratory component:
    • Provide the Graduate College with a list of equipment and supplies needed for each session at least one month prior to the course or class start date.
    • Provide students with a laboratory manual including explanations of techniques and materials to be used.
    • Instruct the preparator prior to setting up the laboratory sessions.
  • Maintain office hours for academic support.
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the University.
