Job Overview:
Under the direct supervision of licensed nursing personnel, performs a variety of routine duties to assist the nurses in the delivery of patient care. Processes and maintains reusable endoscopy supplies and equipment in accordance with department and Hospital policies and procedures.
Job Requirements:
High School Degree or GED Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals Up to 1 year experience in a related field
Job Responsibilities:
Prior to use, inspects and tests equipment and instruments for defects or breakage and reports problems to the RN. Performs tasks for room clean-up and decontamination. Demonstrates knowledge of and practices principles of aseptic technique: confines/contains contaminated equipment; handles/identifies specimens as directed. Cleans, disinfects and handles equipment/instruments according to manufacturer's instructions, hospital P/P & infection control guidelines. Assists with ordering, re-stocking and preparation of supplies and equipment for specific procedures & provides assistance during the procedures. Arrives on time, starts work on time. Less than 5 episodes of unscheduled absence a year.
