What You'll Do



Summary/Objective:

Manage the overall operations of the Consumer Loan Department, including underwriting , Direct, Indirect, and student loans, to ensure that key performance standards are maintained to meet the needs of the members. Ensure that Consumer Lending meets all regulatory guidelines set by NCUA, DCU and any other governing body.

  • Manage the Consumer Lending operations, including supervision of loan underwriting, processing, funding, and support. Set performance goals and ensure timely review of progress and maintain performance documentation.
  • Manage, monitor, and measure the performance of loan queues, processes, and system performance.
  • Effectively leverage resources to effectively monitor queue performance, identify patterns and trends, and proactively work towards solutions.
  • Responsible for making recommendations for consumer lending technology, workflows, and policies to ensure competitiveness.
  • Track and manage audit processes including the completion of audit findings and ensure performance meets all audit turnaround times on file reviews.
  • Implement tracking standardizations to ensure all parties are managed to provide accurate data for quality performance tracking.
  • Project Management of Credit Union initiatives as outlined by the VP of Consumer Lending.
  • Constantly look for ways to streamline DCU's processes and workflows to improve services provided to members and provide VP of Consumer Lending with recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage and coordinate activities according to established policies and procedures. Recommend, communicate, and implement department operating policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
  • Develop and implement controls to ensure consistency and accuracy. Responsible for internal systems and processes to ensure that procedures are consistent with the company's objectives for loan underwriting, processing, quality control/assurance, and compliance.
  • Manage the credit approval, administration, and review activities of the Consumer Loan programs to ensure that proposed loans adhere to existing policy guidelines, that documentation is adequate to ensure security of collateral, and quality measures are maintained.
  • Review for approval/denial employee, official, and other special loans and member loans exceeding Loan Officer authority levels. Negotiate terms within the Credit Union's guidelines that will enable members to continuously improve their financial well-being.
  • Maintain and make recommendations for rates, policies, authorized users and security levels in the loan origination system and with third party loan originators.
  • Review loan decision decision data credit scoring models to ensure that proposed loans adhere to existing policies and proactively identify new strategies.
  • Maintain a complete knowledge of all the Credit Union's products/services with an emphasis on Direct, Student, Solar, and Indirect Lending loan policies, forms and guidelines.
  • Develop and keep the consumer lending staff informed through staff meetings, continuous coaching, training, and by attending seminars/conferences.
  • Ensure quality control processing for both the DCU Consumer Lendings and any 3rd party providers.
  • Support DCU's quality initiative through teamwork and quality of service to internal and external members.
  • Complete all required internal training annually and maintain knowledge of current policies, specifically those related to functions performed within the department and identifying and reporting possible suspicious activity.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by Managers(s).



What You'll Need




  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or relevant work experience
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of previous management and consumer lending experience (underwriting, servicing, loan processing and funding)
  • Experience managing application, credit decision and loan servicing systems
  • Knowledge of state and federal compliance regulations
  • Previous experience working in an Indirect lending environment
