Posting Summary |
Rutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking a Manager Quality Improvement located in its central administration offices located in Trenton, NJ. The Manager is responsible for the overall functioning of the Quality Improvement Program for University Correctional Health Care (
UCHC), manages the administrative activities of the Quality Improvement office and manages all QI staff. The QI Manager is responsible for continuously assessing all aspects of care and services at
UCHC, recommends improvement interventions and treatment, and monitors the effectiveness of such interventions and the maintenance of achieved improvements. Is responsible for assessing outcome of treatment, using, adapting, and developing, as necessary, the outcome assessment tools at
UCHC .
Duties include:
- Manages the Quality Improvement Program, responsible for QI Staff, hiring, firing, performance reviews, and training.
- Manages the National Commission for Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) accreditation including maintaining compliance, preparing for site visits, and any other related activity that results in continuous accreditation.
- Responsible for the overall administration of the program and identifies goals and targets for the program, updates the program as appropriate, and evaluates its performance annually.
- Responsible for all performance improvement activities, including development and oversight of performance improvement teams.
- Develops, implements, and reviews all performance measures; provides consultation and education to management and key staff regarding performance measurement, improvement, and outcome data

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in one of the following disciplines: Statistics, Education, Nursing, Public Health, or Related Health Care Area and five (5) years experience in a relevant health care setting.
- Requires knowledge of mental, dental, and physical health care services and extensive knowledge and experience with quality improvement programs.
- Outstanding human relations and leadership skills and ability to function in a team environment.
- Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Working knowledge and experience in statistical data analysis and ability to retrieve data from the Electronic Health Record used by NJDOC
- Strong writing skills, as would be demonstrated in professional publications or other professional writing
- Strong oral presentation skills would be demonstrated in speaking at conferences and/or professional training
- Two (2) years related supervisory experience
- Experience in supervising unionized workforce is also preferred. Computer literacy in such programs as ACCESS, EXCEL, Power BI or other AI tools, statistics applications, and ability to access data from the back tables of electronic health record
