Earn $110,000 to $115,000 annually Position Details The Nurse Practitioner Position is a Master's prepared independently licensed nurse who provides medical evaluation and care to patients in outpatient settings. This activity is performed in collaboration with physician(s)and other members of the multidisciplinary health care team. The nurse practitioner practice includes taking histories and physical examinations, ordering and interpreting data obtained from diagnostic tests and laboratory studies, ordering the appropriate medications and treatments and providing patient and staff education. It also includes in-depth documentation through written progress notes and dictation summaries using electronic health records. The nurse practitioner maintains a high level of clinical competence in an area of specialty practice integrating the art and science of both nursing and medicine into practice. In addition, the nurse practitioner is expected to work with members of the community health care team. REQUIREMENTS: Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills: * Excellent written and spoken communication skills. * Good interpersonal skills, with caring, attentive nature * Commitment to Merakey mission and vision * Performance shall be within the limits established by the medical staff and consistent with Professional Nursing Law EXPERIENCE: * 1-3 years Nurse Practitioner experience, preferred in Primary Care * Experience working with patients with behavioral health or intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred * Experience with telehealth is a plus EDUCATION: * Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program required * MSN Required. LICENSURES/CERTIFICATIONS: * Licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing Examiners as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner. * Provider BLS (American Heart Assoc/American Red Cross) required. * May require ACLS certification.
