Who You Are:

Versar Global Solutions seeks a full-time Sr. Procurement Specialist with CostPoint experience ready to support our Applied Professional and Technology Solutions (APTS) and Infrastructure and Asset Maintenance Business Areas (IAM).

What You'll Do:

  • Provide procurement guidance and support to APTS related to source identification, soliciting Request for Quotations/Proposals, (RFQs/RFPs) contracting, purchasing and other related procurement functions.
  • Leverage expertise in the CostPoint procurement module to support team members moving into the new system, facilitating swift and efficient organizational change
  • Work with the Procurement Supervisor and Business Leads to support project stand-up, and ongoing implementation; including canvasing for suppliers, preparing, submitting (RFQs/RFPs); drafting, and negotiating purchase orders, and subcontract agreements.
  • Prepare, review and conduct cost/price analysis, facilitate subcontract awards.
  • Works with the Procurement Supervisor to establish procurement strategies and mechanisms that meet project delivery requirements in terms of timeliness, quality, and value.
  • Identify alternative procurement sources and local businesses, suppliers, and service providers to provide services locally to project offices.
  • Leads Small and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (S/DBE) procurement program; to include identification of S/DBE businesses, reporting on S/DBE utilization, and performing S/DBE reporting requirements.
  • Leverage economies of scale and purchase volume to negotiate and procure blanket ordering mechanisms to implement efficiencies and cost savings across the business.
  • Reviews and develops scope of services and bills of materials in coordination with project teams.
  • Under the supervision of the Procurement Supervisor, serve as a point of contact for coordinating between field offices, project management office and corporate office on issues related to compliance, subcontracting and procurement.
  • Work with VGS Procurement Management Systems, to process purchase orders, subcontracts; and facilitate timely vendor payments.
  • Ensure the integrity of vendor data, and all data gathered.
  • Collaborate with team, customers and internal business partners to identify areas for process improvement.
  • Help ensure all relevant, administrative and contractual business controls are enforced and satisfied.
  • Other responsibilities as determined.

What You'll Bring:

  • Mandatory: Applicant must have prior Procurement experience utilizing the Procurement Module in CostPoint
  • Strong knowledge of various subcontracting, procurement and acquisition methods
  • Analytical, data driven approach with an attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of government contracting terms & conditions
  • Ability to translate large amounts of data into useful information, draw conclusions, and report data as needed
  • Excellent creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to solve problems that may not have one clear answer
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners/partners to overcome obstacles and deliver results
  • Ability to lean forward, work proactively and independently with minimum supervision
  • A desire to grow professionally as the role's responsibility grows rapidly with the business

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5-7 years of relevant industry experience, or Master's Degree and 3- 5 years relevant industry experience.
  • Knowledge of fair and compliant purchasing/acquisition and subcontracting processes
  • Prior experience supporting general contractors, construction, civil engineering, construction, or operations & maintenance projects
  • Positive attitude, critical thinker, driven, and works with integrity
  • Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen
  • Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
  • Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate's start date.

Compensation

Expected annual compensation: Washington, DC - $82,850 - $124,275

Expected annual compensation: Greenville, SC - $73,048 - $109,573
