The Role:

Our site in Chaska, MN is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. The Senior Financial Analyst provides financial decision support for the assigned manufacturing plants and is a key business partner to Plant Management in the Advance Material Handing (AMH)Division. The individual's responsibilities are to assist in the maintenance of the plant cost accounting processes and to provide operational/cost accounting analysis in support of plant operations. This position will provide cost accounting and financial support to AMH manufacturing plants in Chaska and Bloomington, Minnesota. This position reports to the Plant Controller - One Minnesota, AMH division.

What You'll Do:

  • Analyze, understand and interpret financial results; provide insightful and actionable feedback/recommendations for management in identifying opportunities for improvement.

  • Support monthly/annual forecasting/budgeting;

  • Ensure the plant financial forecasts and budgets are aligned with Operational, AMH Division and Corporate goals;

  • Support the establishment of standard costing rates and partner with Operations to update material cost, BOM and routings for cost roll;

  • Support and review proposed productivity projects;

  • Review/explain manufacturing variances;

  • Business/Operations decision support through analysis

  • Provide timely plant results and drive accountability.

  • Complete month end close tasks ensuring that financial statements related to the Plant are properly stated and conform to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), including inventory valuations and reserve amounts

  • Provide financial education/training and guidance to non-finance employees

What We Seek:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with 3+ years as a financial analyst

  • Financial Modeling and analysis experience

  • Cost accounting knowledge and experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal control concepts

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced, dynamic global environment

  • Proactive, future-looking, positive attitude

  • Proficient SAP, Excel and PowerPoint skills; Business Objects and/or SAP BPC a plus

  • Strong communication skills; ability to summarize and clearly communicate financial analysis to non-financial business partners

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment;

  • Successful business partnership with site, business unit and division leadership through forecast/budget alignment, timely communication of financial results/risks/opportunities and adhoc analyses/modeling support.

  • Demonstrated understanding of continuous improvement through identification, vetting, and tracking of improvement projects.
