Your Role

As an Architect at Gensler, you will join a dynamic, innovative team dedicated to impactful, design-forward healthcare projects. We touch all phases of healthcare architecture and interior design projects, from initial project setup through design, construction, and post-occupancy. What You Will Do

  • Documentation coordination with consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV, acoustical, accessibility, building envelope, life safety, etc.)

  • Coordinate with the project team, client, vendors, contractors, and consultants for a variety of healthcare projects (medical office buildings, hospitals, outpatient clinics, surgery centers, community health centers, etc.)

  • Experience delivering healthcare buildings, base buildings, and interior design experience is preferred

  • Resolve complex technical and design issues with the team to produceinnovative, technical, constructible solutions

  • Direct production of drawings, specifications, and construction administration tasks

  • Responsible for delivery of documents with design intent and top-notch technical quality

  • Contribute to the maintenance and oversight of the project manual and specifications

  • Conduct on-site observations and document site reviews

  • Process submittals/substitution requests during construction and address RFIs

  • Interface with building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases of the project

  • Actively participate and contribute to the financial performance of the project

  • Review and contribute to proposals and contracts with the Design Manager

  • Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs

  • Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships

Your Qualifications

  • 10+ years of related experience in healthcare architecture,

    from feasibility studies, pre-design, space programming, and master planning to schematic design, design development, and construction documents

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.

  • Licensed architect (preferred) and/or NCIDQ certification.

  • ACHA (American College of Healthcare Architect) certification preferred

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare-specific design guidelines, building codes, and regulations.

  • Understanding of healthcare regulations and codes (FGI and NFPA)

  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Office, Bluebeam Revu, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and AutoCAD).

  • Knowledge of sustainable design strategies and experience with high-performance building systems is a plus.

  • A commitment to sustainable building practices, with experience delivering projects that integrate environmental responsibility and operational efficiency.

  • Strong network within the local healthcare community with established positive references.
