ISO New England is the not-for-profit, independent system operator responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable flow of electricity in our region and planning for the future of the electric grid. We are at the forefront of New England's ongoing transition to clean energy. The Planning Services Development and Solutions team in the Planning Services department of ISO New England plays a pivotal role in the organization's system planning function, dedicated to ensure that the region will meet its resource and energy adequacy needs efficiently as it transitions towards a reliable and clean-energy system. With the emergence of advanced technologies and evolving market structures in alignment with regulatory, environmental, and public policy goals, the demand and resource mix of the power system are undergoing major transformations. To integrate this new mix seamlessly into the power system, innovative solutions are vital. Our team focuses on developing groundbreaking techniques to model emerging technologies, collaborating with various departments to propose market design innovations, and conducting thorough analyses to assess resource and energy adequacy needs for the future system. We are seeking individuals with a strong background in power systems who are eager to join a dynamic team focused on power system design, simulation, and analytics. To prepare for and manage the grid of the future, ISO New England is growing! As such, our System Planning team will temporarily relocate to our Windsor campus effective Jan. 1, 2025. How you will make an Impact: In this role, you'll have the unique opportunity to conduct research and development in a rapidly-evolving industry that is a focal point of public and environmental policy discussions. Collaborating within a small team and with various ISO departments, you will deliver recommendations aimed at enhancing resource and energy adequacy assessment and resource accreditation in the capacity market. Your responsibilities will encompass power system reliability modeling, simulation, and assessments.
