The Senior Lead Structural Engineer is responsible for working under the supervision of Senior Engineers to develop structural engineering solutions to the design of buildings and other load-bearing structures.
Explore your tasks and responsibilities
- May lead a team of Engineers and Designers, as well as
plans, schedules, or coordinates the preparation of documents or activities for multiple major projects - Collaborates with other disciplines and contractors to
support the development of design deliverables such as drawings and specifications - Reviews shop drawings and submittals to understand how
design and construction are inter-related - Attends construction and design verification walks and
submit report of observations - Prepares structural engineering calculations and finite
element modelling under the supervision of a Senior Engineer - Serves as a technical specialist for the organization in
the application of advanced concepts, principles, and methods in an assigned area - Represents the organization and maintains liaisons with
individuals and related organizations - Works closely with design and technical teams in leading
the development of design deliverables such as reports and Construction Documents, including drawings and specifications - Analyses and designs the basic structural components of a
building or other structure - Coordinates structural models and drawings with the other
design disciplines - Keeps informed of new developments and requirements
affecting the organization for the purpose of recommending changes in programs or applications - Mentors Interns and junior members of project teams
- Participates in the development of office standards and
procedures - Interprets, organizes, executes, and coordinates
assignments - Other duties as assigned
Show your expertise
- Bachelor's in Engineering required
- 10+ years of experience
- Master's Degree preferred
- Professional Engineering (PE) License or Structural
Engineering (SE) License required - Nation Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying
(NCEES) Record preferred - Prior experience in semiconductors and microelectronic
facilities preferred - Experience with Design-Build preferred
- Experience with structural analysis software such as RAM,
STAAD, Tedds and Enercalc - Experience working in an office environment and preferably
has experience working on a construction site - Experienced in Autodesk Building Systems Software design
and delivery systems - Experience as a consulting engineer preferred
- Experience in contributing to continuous improvement
processes - Experience in driving and managing change
