Department OverviewMotorola Solutions is a world leader in the field of professional mobile communications systems with an impressive heritage of technological innovations and a global base of installed systems. The group's main business is the implementation of mission critical digital mobile communication systems for Government & Public Safety Communications customers. Job Description

This is a remote position with travel (25%-50%) to support projects. The candidate must reside in or be open to relocation to GA, SC or NC.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and maintains a project budget and schedule as well as a communication plan with project teams and customers.

  • Develops and manages a project schedule (MS Project typically used).

  • Establishes and executes risk assessments and mitigation plans.

  • Ensures assigned projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to contract requirements and prescribed quality metrics.

  • Schedules and leads project review and status meetings (internally and with the customer), and communicates project status effectively.

  • Negotiates and writes subcontracts for internal and external subcontractors, approves invoices

  • Motivates project team members to ensure optimal performance.

  • Prepares budgets, reports, and scheduling for each project assigned.

  • Ensures the profitability and customer satisfaction goals of the project.

Skills:

  • Understanding of Project Financial key measurements.

  • Experience with Kissflow, Planview, MS Project, and/or Primevera P6.

  • PM Masters Certificate (a plus)

  • PMP Certification is highly desired (PMP and/or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certifications are valuable assets).

  • Understanding of two-way radio/cellular infrastructure communications products, services, and systems (a plus).

  • Understanding of local public safety customers (police, fire, and emergency medical services) (a plus).

  • Strong self-motivation with the ability to work effectively with general guidance towards objectives.

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides, Docs, Drive, Meet, Chat, etc), or the Microsoft equivalent is required.

Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years of project/program management or similar business or engineering experience

  • Or 8 + years of project/program management or similar business or engineering experience

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
