Overview

Job Summary:

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS), a premier provider of ordnance weapons and tactical systems to the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nations, has an opening for a Programs Manager I to join our St. Petersburg, FL team. Summary:

Plans, monitors and manages internal programs from initiation through completion. Leads or coordinates programs, resourcing, progress reporting, troubleshooting and indirect people management. Monitors performance and recommends schedule changes, cost adjustments or resource additions using EV system. Maintains detailed risk register and IMS to monitor program performance | Report detailed program status to customer and leadership. Responsibilities are within the Project Management Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines.



Major Position Responsibilities

    Has P&L responsibilities for a specific program.
  • Implements and administers one or more corporate programs, typically consisting of multiple programs or sub-programs.
  • Executes programs that meet the needs of the organization or its employees or customers.
  • Participates in all aspects of corporate programs, including planning, budgeting, staffing, and performance.
  • Promotes the program throughout the organization and tracks utilization.
  • Supervises the work of program or project staff to ensure that work in completed on time or in accordance with established standards or specifications.
  • Evaluates program effectiveness by collecting and analyzing data in support of key performance metrics.
  • Ensures that activities are in compliance with organizational policies and any relevant external regulations.
  • Provides reports and updates to senior management or other stakeholders.


Basic Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Assocaite's Degree OR Equivalent Combination of Relevent Education &/ or Experience
  • 0-3 years experience relevant to the positions functional area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business

Other Requirements:

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25-50% of time, including possible international travel
