Sediment Remediation Engineer or Scientist

Geosyntec is looking for a Remediation Engineer or Scientist for our Sediment Remediation and Waterfront Redevelopment Practice in the Columbia, MD office or the option to work remotely from your home-office at the Company's discretion, who is interested in being a leader and contributing to innovative and challenging projects, including the financial and technical evaluation, design, permitting, and construction stages. Our ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of experience on these types of projects, particularly on the design and construction aspects.

Business development; including bringing in new clients and obtaining repeat business from existing clients, leading proposal preparation, and developing and implementing a business development plan;
• Task and project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
• Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors;
• Work plan development, data evaluation, and report writing;
• Engineering analysis, design, and cost estimating for sediment remediation projects;
• Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
• Reviewing and managing written document production;
• Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties; and
• At times, job may also include fieldwork including multi-media environmental sampling, sediment sampling and characterization, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction.

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, earth science (geology or hydrology), environmental, civil, or chemical engineering or related field. (required)
• Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
• Professional registration (i.e., P.E., P.G.) (preferred)

• At least 5 years of direct environmental consulting experience in sediment remediation; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
• Detailed understanding of CERCLA and other applicable state regulations. (required)
• Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (preferred)
• Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients. (preferred)
• Proven leadership skills. (preferred)
• Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
• Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
• Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

• Minimum Salary: $74,900/year / Maximum Salary: $116,485/year (Columbia, MD)
