Your Role As the Inventory Planning Manager, you will ensure optimal inventory levels through strategic planning, forecasting, and collaboration with supply chain partners. By continuously improving accuracy, minimizing stockouts, and balancing costs, we aim to support Atlas Copco's operational goals and enhance customer satisfaction. You will work a hybrid schedule (3 days in office 2 day from home) at our South Charlotte location (about 3-4 miles from Carowinds) You will work report directly to the Supply Chain Manager and you will supervise a team of 7 Inventory Planners.
- Team Leadership & Development
- You will set a clear vision for the Planning team that aligns with the company's overall mission and goals.
- You will communicate effectively to inspire and guide the team.
- You will promote cross departmental collaboration to enhance the effectiveness of the inventory planning efforts.
- Supply Chain Collaboration
- You will coordinate with suppliers, purchasing teams and logistics to ensure timely inventory replenishment.
- You will establish relationships with key suppliers to secure reliable source and manage lead times.
- You will communicate regularly with logistics teams to align inbound inventory flow.
- You will ensure effective internal communication to keep the team informed and motivated.
- Reporting & Analytics
- You will provide actionable insights based on inventory data and support data driven strategies.
- Risk Management
- You will mitigate risks related to stockouts, overstock, and disruptions in the supply chain.
- You will develop contingency plans for high-risk items, critical products, and market changes.
- Process Improvement
- You willl identify and implement opportunities to streamline inventory management processes.
- You will leverage inventory management systems and technology to enhance tracking and reporting.
To succeed, you will need Experience
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in supply chain, inventory management, purchasing, or logistics.
- Demonstrated record in resolving complex issues.
- Proficiency using business intelligence solutions, i.e., Power BI
- Ability to analyze historical data to estimate future demand and determine the appropriate level of inventory.

- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing planning team.
- Strong ability to resolve complex issues effectively.
- Capability to analyze data and make data driven decisions.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Highly customer oriented (both internal and external) with a proactive approach.
- Convey information clearly and effectively to suppliers, team members, and stakeholders.
- Skills in developing and executing inventory management strategies.
- High energy and positive attitude capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
