Job Summary:

The Category Manager - Plant Services is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for plant-related services, including but not limited to maintenance, repair, facilities management, and other plant-specific needs. Sub-categories will include contractors (electrical, mechanical, civil, crane, outsourced manufacturing, etc.). This role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the delivery of cost-effective and high-quality services to support plant operations. The Category Manager will work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to drive value, efficiency, and continuous improvement in the procurement process.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in category management, procurement, plant operations, or related fields, with a focus on plant and maintenance services.
  • Bachelor's degree required. Preferred focus in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • CPSM/CPSD/C.P.M. certification(s) preferred.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and video conferencing tools.
  • Experience with Should-Cost Modeling, Total Cost of Ownership, and ROI analysis preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills, ability to create and manage complex spreadsheets.
  • Experience with business operating systems, i.e.: Oracle, SAP, preferred.
  • Experience working within a project management environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficiency in developing a strategic approach to sourcing categories or supply base.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sourcing Strategies: Create and implement strategic sourcing plans for plant services categories, utilizing spend analysis, internal stakeholder discussions, and market intelligence to align with overall business objectives and operational needs.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage a portfolio of suppliers to ensure optimal performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Promote long term supplier relationships to drive collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations with key suppliers, ensuring favorable terms, conditions, and pricing. Support negotiations by plant procurement and develop tools and templates for use by plant procurement teams.
  • Benchmarking of Cost and Service Levels: Conduct benchmarking of prices and services across Hydro Extrusion plants to identify opportunities for reduced costs and implementing minimum service levels.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with plant managers, maintenance, engineering, supply chain, finance and other stakeholders to understand service requirements and ensure alignment with category strategies.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and best practices in plant services. Utilize market intelligence to inform sourcing decisions.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for plant services vendors, including cost savings, supplier performance, and compliance. Implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, streamline operations, and drive efficiencies within the plant services category.
  • Ability to travel up to 35% as required.
