Interstates is growing, and we are currently seeking a temporary Safety Tech to join Interstates Construction Team. The Safety Tech will be responsible for assisting the Safety Managers. This individual will also help our customers achieve a successful and safe work zone, that meets all owner/regulatory requirements, as defined in the primary job duties section, below. Responsibilities
This position reports to: Safety Manager Position Summary:
- Work with the site management to identify and immediately correct unsafe working conditions or equipment.
* Safety contact for day-to-day safety operations on a construction site * Ensure all workers fully understand safety policies and practices. * Assists with investigation of unsafe acts/accidents to identify the root cause and corrective actions. * Monitors on-site safety audits including logging, reporting, and documentation. * Works with Site management and Area Managers to ensure safety equipment/supplies are on site. * Assist Site Management in monitoring site-specific injuries/accidents. * Takes direction on injury management.

Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Occupational Health or Construction Safety
- or two years related experience and/or training in the safety or construction industry;
- Or equivalent combination of both education and experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Able to track information and conduct audits
- Ability to write reports and procedure manuals
- Can effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of manager, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to work well with others and achieve results through others, without having a direct line of authority over them
- Must possess sound judgment skills, and the ability to prioritize work and deal with stress
