Postdoctoral position in neurophysiology An NIH-funded appointment is available to study the neurophysiology underlying goal-directed behavior, decision-making, reward processing and executive control in the laboratory of Dr. Joni Wallis at the University of California, Berkeley. Further information regarding the research performed in our lab can be found on our website: http://www.wallislab.org Our research uses sophisticated behavioral paradigms combined with Neuropixels recording systems, which enables the simultaneous monitoring of large numbers of individual neurons in the awake, behaving subject. Our lab is part of the brand-new Department of Neuroscience, and we collaborate with the extensive number of frontal lobe researchers on campus and colleagues in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences. Candidates with prior experience working with animals are preferred. Previous experience with brain-machine interfaces is also an advantage but not critical. Candidates are expected to have a strong work ethic, excellent organizational and communication skills, and critical thinking abilities. Candidates must have a Ph.D., and those with a background in either neuroscience or engineering are particularly encouraged to apply. Experience with MATLAB or Python is desirable. Salary is commensurate with experience, within the U.C. Berkeley postdoctoral salary range. To apply for the position, please send a cover letter and curriculum vita to wallislab.apply@gmail.com. In your cover letter, please indicate how you found out about this job advertisement.
