$30.23/hr The Material Coordinator receives, inspects, and ships goods on behalf of Peace Corps Volunteers in principal areas of Africa, EMA, and IAP. Compiles and maintains records of quantity, cost, and type of material received, stored, and issued, and prepares material requisitions by performing the following duties.
- Assists in shipping all official office and medical supplies, equipment, and other property to overseas posts including hazardous materials and perishable goods.
- Compares information on requisitions, invoices, and shipping notices to material received or issued to verify the accuracy of the order. Inspects, accepts, or rejects material received.
- Compiles and maintains an inventory of material received, stored, and shipped.
- Repackages goods for shipment via Diplomatic Pouch, APO/FPO, commercial shipper, or freight forwarder.
- Recommends the most cost and time-efficient method of shipment.
- Prepares GBLs, Air Bills, Express, and other shipping documents and coordinates pickups, as appropriate. Marks identifying material information.
- Follow-ups with air freight forwarder to ensure expedition and confirmation of shipments.
- Tracks shipments and provides detailed information to overseas support staff and posts on a timely basis.
- Issues all shipping documents, authorizations, and letters in support of the above activities.
- Prepares documents to appropriate offices and maintains all records of documents issued and shipments processed for overseas support.
- Attends Director's Staff meetings and participates in all activities/events of the Overseas Directorate.
- Performs other duties as necessary.
- Completes and maintains all required Didlake training.
