Candidates who can contribute to that goal are encouraged to identify their strengths or experiences in this area. *** Vice President, Workforce Development and Community Partnerships~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Please note that this position will remain open until filled. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Summary: The Vice President, Workforce Development and Community Partnerships provides college-wide transformational leadership, vision, and strategic direction for the Workforce and Community Outreach areas, in alignment with the NCC mission, vision, values, and strategic plan. This leader is in a critical role to drive the college's mission in workforce and economic development, creating synergy at NCC, business and industry, economic development partners, and the greater community around solutions that support and help create prosperity for the Northampton and Monroe County areas. This role is responsible for anticipating and providing solutions for the workforce development needs of partners in business and industry as well as key economic development and community partners. This position reports to the President and is a member of the senior leadership team as well and President's Cabinet. Essential Functions: Workforce Development

This role is vital for enhancing the organization's visibility and impact within the community. Qualifications: Required Skills and Abilities:
Education and Experience: (1) Education: attainment of a master's degree from a Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) approved Institutional Accreditor College is preferred but not required. (2) Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: (a) knowledge of current concepts in the field of administrative management, training, continuing and adult education, community service, community organization, and non-traditional education; (b) ability to function effectively as a member of administrative and instructional teams; (c) ability to organize and work effectively with small groups; (d) ability to develop programs in cooperation with others; (e) work effectively with diverse populations including students, faculty, administrators and community groups; (f) ability to make decisions which will positively affect the students and customers of the College; (g) skills in interpersonal relationships; (h) entrepreneurial, technical, and managerial skills; (i) knowledge of grant preparation and administration. (3) Experience: (a) ten (10) years management level experience in business/industry and/or higher education. Experience at a community college is a plus but not required. (b) demonstrated successful experience working with business and industry. (c) proven capacity to serve in a senior leadership role. |
