The Area Manufacturing Manager provides high level manufacturing expertise in the application of best available technology and practices across all eight mills. The Area Manufacturing Manager works with mill manufacturing and corporate resources to facilitate the exchange of best practices between mills.

**Relocation is not required but must have the ability to travel up to 80% to various PCA locations.

Principal Accountabilities:



  • Interface with Paper Mill personnel as required (24/7)

    • Remote Troubleshooting and Technical Phone Support as required


  • Attend Drive System design meetings as required

    • At Mill Sites
    • Via Teams/Skype/etc.
    • Factory Tests at Drive Vendor Facility


  • Review Design / Approve Electrical/Mechanical Drawings
  • Write "Scope of Work" Documents for Bid Process for Drive and Drive System Installations
  • Assist Mills with Project Implementation

    • Demo of Existing Equipment (if required)

      • Ability to Secure Removed Equipment for Other Facilities with the Same Style Equipment (obsolescence/spare parts)


    • New Equipment Specification
    • Installation Of New Equipment
    • Commissioning of New Equipment
    • Interface with Mills / Vendors to Define Project Scheduling Timelines


  • Support Mill Annual Outages

    • Best Practice Implementation for Reliability
    • Maintenance For Drive Equipment
    • Upgrades For Drive Equipment
    • Supervise Mill / Travel Group Personnel if Required


  • Support Mill Short Outages as needed in all 8 Mills
  • Interface with Mills related to Drive Equipment Corrective Actions

    • Defective Part(s) replacements
    • General OEM Recommended Parts Replacements
    • Firmware Upgrades
    • Spare Parts Inventories


  • Work with Mill Personnel installing "Mill Driven" Projects

    • Dimensioning / Specifying Drive Equipment
    • Assist During Short Mill Outages
    • Assist During Annual Outages
    • Assist During an Emergency Basis - Either at site or remotely





Qualifications:



  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Ability to Work with Others
  • Ability to Meet Deadlines
  • Computer knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Excel, Power Point and Word
  • Understanding and Ability to Use Hand Tools and Electrical Metering Equipment Safely
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university

    • AC / DC Drive Theory
    • AC / DC Motor Theory
    • Ability to Read Electrical Schematics
    • AutoCAD Basic Knowledge


  • Basic Knowledge of Drive Systems and Drive Related Equipment

    • Basic Understanding of Driven Mechanical Equipment a plus


  • Minimum experience of 5 years in the Paper Industry or equivalent experience

    • Participation in Drive System Installations and/or Commissioning a plus
    • Rockwell PLC/CLX Knowledge a plus
    • Project Management Skills a definite plus


  • Ability to travel 80% of the time - Mostly weekly trips, some weekend layovers will be required
  • Possess a Valid Passport and State issued driver's license
  • The Successful Candidate will possess the ability to live anywhere in Continental US within a reasonable commute to a Commercial Airport
