Purpose and Scope: The role of Production Supervisor reporting to the Production Manager; will provide overall leadership for the production teams, that they meet or exceed established business goals. This role will oversee the work activities around production. Ensuring that all production metrics and schedules are met and shipments to customers are completed on time. Expected Outcomes/Job Functions: Safety Responsibilities: Responsible for department incident rate consistent with Tru Vue company goals. Must maintain department safety rules compliance and be a positive safety role model. Responsible for training all department employees on safe work practices. Responsible for ensuring an organized, clean and safe work environment. Responsible for team attendance at all monthly safety training meetings. Responsible for ensuring procedures and work practices have appropriate safety review and new equipment is reviewed for proper guarding, safe operating procedures, and lockout tagout. Responsible for regular safety discussions with team and proactively listen to employees' safety concerns/suggestions. Must act upon those concerns and provide feedback. Responsible for implementing corrective actions after an incident or near miss. Responsible to support department employees with time opportunities to perform extra-curricular safety programs (i.e., 1st responders, safety meeting presenters, safety committee, audits). Responsible for leading team safety meetings within department. Lead & Responsibility Lead communication of team performance metrics throughout the organization. Lead by example by performing machine set-up, loading, cutting, inspecting, and packaging of products. Interface effectively with specialized equipment and automation. Lead consistent application of policies & procedures, including all applicable SOP's. Lead quality awareness and co-ordinate correct quality issues. Responsible to maintain detailed and organized data records for the team and department through the use and successful operation of established data systems and procedures. Responsible to work off-shift as needed for meetings, training, and special assignments. Responsible to effectively communicate to other shifts and departments in a clear and concise manner. Responsible to complete all hourly and daily reporting prior to leaving at the end of the shift. Follow through on tasks that go beyond a shift. Responsible for the detection of product or process abnormalities and suspected causes, troubleshoot processes and help correct issues. Responsible for cross training in related functions and assist others in obtaining cross-functional capabilities. Responsible to collaborate regularly with all areas of Production and support resources to achieve business goals, communicate issues, & continuously improve. Responsible to drive SAP accuracy across the shift by overseeing and correcting all transactions that occur. Responsible for achieving productivity, quality, and safety levels as set for the department. Responsible for ensuring effective schedule execution. Plan to ensure and improve full utilization of resources. Leadership and Employee Development: Identify developmental needs for all production levels and create appropriate goals. Provide coaching & resources for goal attainment. Provide frequent, specific performance feedback and coaching to all production employees, including proactively addressing performance issues. Consistently and correctly enforce company policies and legal requirements. Responsible for performance of individuals and team, including defining and communicating expectations and proactively addressing performance issues. Provide frequent, specific performance feedback and coaching to reports, including completing reviews thoroughly and on time. Coordinate and conduct meetings with direct reports, including regularly scheduled team meetings. Lead and motivate all direct and non-direct reports in a positive manner, including coaching others to follow work instructions, achieve standards, one vision, and goal. Provide corrective feedback and work with manager to provide corrective action to team members. Coach and train new team members and temporary employees in small groups and one-on-one. Lean Excellence and Continuous Improvement: Lead support, understand, and coach others in understanding and use of lean tools, etc. Lead, initiate and support Lean Excellence projects and continuous improvement process. Lead to generate and document solutions and continuous improvement ideas in established manner. Lead and assist in creation and implementation of productivity improvements. Lead in writing SOPs to eliminate variation and promote sharing of knowledge. Lead in ensuring compliance with SOP tracking boards. Lead to drive improvement to current SOPs through team review. Lead in assuring team members perform tasks according to established procedures. Lead and participate proactively in available opportunities for self-development. Lead and demonstrate continuous improvement in leadership and interpersonal skills. Lead continuous improvement by actively working the jobs and driving improvement through knowledge. Related or similar duties as necessary to the success of Tru Vue, Inc. The above responsibilities represent the major tasks assigned to incumbents in this job title. Associate Degree +2-year applicable experience, in supervisory role, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience in leadership role. 2. Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience, some type of leadership would be beneficial 3. Previous Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement or Six Sigma training strongly preferred. Attributes: 1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration and risk of electric shock.
