Monday - Friday 8-5 (40 hours)



What You'll Do



Summary Objective:

The Compliance Officer is responsible for helping to ensure Management's awareness of, and the credit union's compliance, with applicable rules and regulations as well as assisting with administering the credit union's Compliance Program.

Essential Functions:



  • Maintain an understanding of laws and regulations related to consumer banking compliance (such as the Consumer Financial Protection Act (Title X of Dodd-Frank), Electronic Fund Transfer Act (Regulation E), Truth in Savings Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Regulation B), Fair Credit Reporting Act (Regulation V), Truth in Lending (Regulation Z), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (Regulation X), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (Regulation C), SCRA/MLA, Expedited Funds Availability Act (Regulation CC), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and others).


  • Plan and perform independent testing/compliance reviews as directed by Compliance Management to ensure internal policies, procedures, and practices remain in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and are consistently followed across all business areas.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments through multiple channels and disseminate relevant information to impacted business areas, as directed by Compliance Management.
  • Review credit union products and services for compliance concerns. Act as coordinator or participant in projects involving regulatory change.
  • Assist Management in the implementation or revision of policies and procedures with compliance components as well as with training materials and internal communications.
  • Review credit union disclosures, communications, forms, notices, web pages, branch signage and advertisements for compliance with advertising and other applicable laws and regulations as directed by Compliance Management.
  • Analyze and advise the business units with day-to-day questions regarding regulatory and operational compliance matters.
  • Work with Management to resolve issues and address deficiencies noted in compliance reviews, risk assessments, internal audits and regulatory examinations.
  • Assist in researching and responding to member complaints as directed by Compliance Management.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships within the business units to ensure a partnership approach to compliance risk management.


  • Complete all required Bank Secrecy Act related training annually and maintain an ongoing in-depth knowledge of DCU BSA policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



What You'll Need



Education and Experience Requirements:



  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in consumer compliance oversight; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with NCUA and CFPB rules and regulations.
  • Understanding of both lending- and deposit-related consumer protection laws and regulations that impact financial institutions.
  • BA/BS preferred.
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) certification, Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE) designation, or NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer (NCCO) designation required (or willing to obtain).
