POSITION TITLE

Technical Lead

POSITION OVERVIEW

Milliken Chemical is looking for a Technical Application Engineer to support a Major Key Account of our colorants and additives business. This position reports to the Global Technical Lead for CPG (Consumer Products Goods) and indirectly to the Account Relationship Director. Your primary role is building credibility and delivering technical relationship support. This will be accomplished by providing technical formulation support, product quality support, product productivity support, innovation support, and participating in a cross-region knowledge transfer. As a part of global technical community, strong leadership skills will be a strength to successfully manage this role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understanding of the Key Account's CPG market segments and Milliken's product offering, and ability to make strategic product recommendations from a technical and commercial value perspective.
  • Facilitate the technical direction and development of new formulations to meet technical and commercial goals with an understanding of CPG formulations and applications.
  • Proven history of analytical skills oriented toward technical validation of new technologies and solving customer problems.
  • Global customer interaction to help translate market needs and technology gaps toward building a pipeline of application innovation projects.
  • Coordination of global development projects and technical support to provide consistent messaging and strategic direction.
  • Direct technical support of Key Account's application innovation or expansion efforts in North America across all platforms.
  • Manage key projects to deliver products or services to the Key Account.
  • Work with the global sales and marketing teams in value proposition translation and communication to customer base.
  • Build strong networks and relationships within the Key Account to support partnership growth initiatives.
  • Coordinate between technical, commercial, regulatory, sourcing, business process, and operations teams to deliver value to the Key Account.

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering, or materials science
  • Willingness for global travel up to 20%
  • 3 to 5 year's work experience
  • Engaging and self-motivated
  • Team player
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills - written and verbal
  • Position is located at our Global Headquarters, Spartanburg, SC (USA)

QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED

  • Advanced degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or Materials Science preferred
