THE POSITION

As an IT Generalist 2, you will work directly with the State Workers Insurance Fund responsible for the highly complex business processes and coordination with relating internal and external partners in the administration of the State Workers Insurance Fund System. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Some key responsibilities of the position will include the ability to read and interpret technical materials such as specifications, manuals and other project documentation as well as the ability to analyze business process and identify functional requirements. Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing are essential along with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. As an IT Generalist 2, you will be expected to utilize your knowledge of IT development concepts and practices, principles of information technology project management, and software testing methods.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Information Technology Generalist 1, Applications Developer 1, or Network Specialist 1; or
  • Four years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or
  • Two years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
  • A bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
