DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Social Worker 2, you will coordinate and implement transitional services for adjudicated youth at South Mountain Secure Treatment Unit, Youth Development Center and Youth Forestry Camp. You will ensure the successful discharge of youth back into the community by planning discharge, establishing aftercare, and conducting follow-ups. You will consult with staff, provide advice to youth and family members, and develop a network of community-based resources. It is important to maintain compliance with regulatory and departmental standards that support our comprehensive system ensuring successful transitions back to the community. - Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. May change based on operational needs.
- Overtime and travel as needed.

- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $58,035 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Social Worker 1 or Forensic Social Worker 1 (commonwealth titles) (must have been employed in a commonwealth social worker job title on September 8, 2008, with continuous commonwealth employment); or
- Two years of experience as a Social Worker 1 or a Forensic Social Worker 1 and a bachelor's degree in social work or social welfare; or
- Two years of professional experience providing direct public or private social work services, and a bachelor's degree in social work or social welfare; or
- A master's degree in social work or social welfare.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
