DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Mail Inspector for the Department of Corrections, your primary duty will involve the meticulous management of both incoming and outgoing mail to uphold established safety protocols. This role requires you to scrutinize correspondence and parcels sent to inmates, ensuring that contraband is effectively intercepted before it can enter the correctional facilities. Additionally, you will be tasked with coordinating mail deliveries with different institutional departments, including libraries and chapels, while also facilitating the distribution of publications, magazines, and packages within the state correctional facility. - Full-time employment, 37.5 hours/week.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of clerical experience, including one year in the field of corrections; or
- Any combination of experience and/or training which provides the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
