DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a County Social Services Aide 1, you will assist caseworkers, supervisors, and other agency personnel in providing a wide-range of services to the children and families served by Mifflin County CYS. Some specific duties include supervising and documenting family visitation sessions, providing transportation to and from appointments, administering drug screens, and scheduling meetings and visitation for those served. You may also provide basic homemaker services to families need. Within this role, it is essential to exercise sound judgement in assessing child safety as it pertains to interactions with parents and in regards to the living environment. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 72.5 hours/bi-weekly.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 45-minute lunch.
- On-call duties will be shared among workers.
- Travel and overtime on an as-needed basis.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Graduation from high school; or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
