Responsibilities

The Brook Hospital Dupont located at 1405 Browns Ln is currently seeking an Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Child Outpatient team. The hours for this position are 7am-7pm, this position includes rotating weekends.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Plans nursing care in conjunction with the treatment team and/or other staff members
  • Makes complete and accurate entries in the patient's chart
  • Documents events during emergency to include follow-up/resolution in progress notes and Variance Report
  • Demonstrates understanding of physical, emotional, cultural, religious and psychosocial needs of patients across the life span
  • Identifies, implements and documents patient/family teaching
  • Observes and interprets behavior, which demonstrates an understanding of psychiatric and dependency concepts and diagnoses
  • Demonstrates a caring, professional attitude and behavior toward patients and visitors, actively contributing to the well-being and dignity of the patient
  • Integrates data gathered from the family, significant others, and other members of the treatment team into the assessment
  • Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships with patients and their families
  • Gives direct patient care, including assistance in activities of daily living
  • Assures continuity of the Nursing Care Plan
  • Utilizes alternatives to restraints to ensure safety and patient rights
  • Provides feedback to patients regarding their behavior, utilizing individual and group settings
  • Participates in the development of patient's problem solving abilities
  • Facilitates communication and problem solving between the patient and family during interactions
  • Charts objectively maintain the integrity and continuity of nursing care and treatment team plans

Qualifications

EDUCATION:
Required: LPN Licensure with Bachler's Degree preferred

EXPERIENCE:
Preferred:
: Two (2) years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
