We are currently seeking a Bilingual Office Assistant for Riveredge Hospital. Simply apply to the posting and discuss your interests with the hiring manager if you are selected to come in for an interview.

The Bilingual Office Assistant provides clerical and general support to the Outpatient Department; to promote the effective flow of information and to manage office services in a manner that positively supports hospital operations and is consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Riveredge Hospital.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients.
  • Register patients according to established protocols.
  • Assist patients to complete all necessary forms and documentation including medical insurance.
  • Ensure patient information is accurate including billing information.
  • Inform patients of medical office procedures and policy
  • Maintain and manage patient records.
  • Move patients through appointments as scheduled.
  • Answer incoming calls and deal with inquiries.
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Collect co-pays and deductible.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Job Experience/Certification:

  • HS diploma/GED required; Associate degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years' experience in office/clerical support.
  • At least 1 year experience in a psychiatric setting is preferred.

Special Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Excellent telephone etiquette
  • Ability to interact effectively with persons in crisis or resistant toward organization.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Professional office administration.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Is open and respectful of cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of all and is willing and competent to work with a diverse client population.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and a part of a high functioning team.
  • Experience and ability to use computers for data entry, communication and report writing.
  • Knowledge of all code procedures with the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

Bilingual preferred
