Senior Associate - Trust Tax

KPMG is currently seeking a Trust Tax Senior Associate or Associate to join our Tax practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Focus on fiduciary, charitable and information reporting returns
  • Use tax preparation software - Thomson Reuters OneSource Trust Tax platform; utilize technologies and tools for client service delivery
  • Work with senior associates and managers as part of a multi-disciplinary team on a variety of assigned projects
  • Analyze, prepare, and review tax workpapers and returns, estimated payments and extensions
  • Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other taxing authorities
    Keep up to date on tax technical developments
Additional Responsibilities:

  • Manage a book of business and/or supervise the production of tax return preparation by associate tax preparers
  • Notify senior practice management of any issues or problems that arise before they become a critical item and assist with driving the growth of tax technical knowledge for the team
Qualifications:
  • Minimum one year of recent public accounting and/or tax experience
  • Bachelors and/or masters degree from an accredited college or university in business, accounting, finance, taxation, mathematics, economics, information technology, data and analytics, engineering (financial, industrial or systems) or related fields; Accounting and Taxation is preferred
  • Must have or be pursuing the state-specific education requirements to be a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) in the principal place of business; a short-term plan for completion of such educational requirements following the start date for this position is required, with completion of such educational requirements prior to the start date for this position is preferred
  • Demonstrated quality service mindset; strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills and ability to navigate MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication, time management and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable
Additional Qualifications:
  • Minimum three years of recent public accounting and/or trust tax experience
  • Intermediary knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code as it relates to trusts and estates
  • team player; and resourceful in delivering high quality work with the ability to independently manage assigned account load
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
