Savvas Learning Company is seeking a Sales Operations Manager to lead a team of Sales Operations Specialists and support Sales Directors and Regional Vice Presidents in adoption states. This manager is a partner with Sales Managers and helps drive sales. The Sales Operations Manager will participate in market planning calls, interact directly with customers, provide outstanding customer service, information, quotes, explanations, research and problem solve customer issues in all aspects of pre-sales and post sales activities. The Sales Operations Manager will have a good understanding of all bids, pricing, and contracted items for products in the states they support. Contracts typically are in place for 5 - 10 years depending upon the state. The Sales Operations Manager must stay up to date with all ISBN changes, pricing changes, and extensions.

This position will be a hybrid role with on-site responsibilities in the Irving, TX office. Candidates will need to reside within a commutable distance.

Responsibilities include:



  • Serve as leader of the Sales Operations team: Develop and provide consistent solutions to questions or issues regarding orders, customer service, proposals and day-to-day related job tasks in line with the goals and structure of the department and the Business.
  • Lead and Manage Quote Creation: Create or manipulate quotes using SalesForce and Microsoft Excel adhering to all Finance, Business and System policies
  • Lead the input Sample Orders for Customers: Keying sample orders for our Sales to be delivered to customers for their review.
  • Project Management: Manage quotes, samples, folder creation or other types of projects for your sales teams to ensure that deadlines and high-quality demands are met
  • Respond to Sales manager and customer phone calls and emails: Act as an agent of the Sales team to facilitate requests or solve escalated issues, liaison with internal teams including Customer Service to ensure that purchase orders are efficiently processed and resolve any issues
  • Lead Marketing folder and binder creation: Create, assemble, package and ship marketing and product folders and binders to support sales campaigns for our sales markets. Involves printing, making copies, assembly, packing, and shipping.
  • Manage customer facing workbook, worktext, and novels sites: Communicate known issues to the Product Management teams as well as the development teams as necessary.
  • Review escalated scenarios or issues: Use systems and other resources to identify the scope of the issue, determine solutions, and provide directions to other groups, as appropriate, to resolve
  • Compile informational analysis and database projects as needed.
  • Demonstrate teamwork, dedication, and a commitment to excellence: Interact with all levels of management; communicate effectively via email and verbally
  • Lead the team to develop, implement, and maintain procedures: Establish best practices and meet common team goals. Define and implement solutions and processes which are consistent with policies and ways of working.



Required Knowledge and Experience:



  • Minimum 5 years of customer service experience and/or sales operations/administration related experience required
  • Management experience highly preferred or 4+ years of in-depth level experience as a team leader, etc.
  • Outstanding communication skills including verbal, written, and active listening
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to set priorities, meet critical deadlines, juggle projects, and produce high quality and accurate work under time constraints
  • A strong sense of urgency in undertaking execution of tasks, and an impressive ability to think ahead, be proactive and, show initiative
  • Able to problem solve through thorough research and analytical skills
  • Microsoft Excel skills are required
  • Salesforce, Google Suite, SAP experience is highly preferred
  • This person must be able to sit or stand at a personal computer for a reasonable length of time typing and reading as well as when presenting
  • Ability to handle a high volume of work in a short period of time, handle multiple priorities simultaneously and operate in a demanding work environment is important.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality is critical to successful performance in this role.
  • Ability to lift and move boxes weighing at least 35 lbs.
