ARES is seeking a Windows Server Administrator. Working on the HSFTIC contract in the Information Technology IT Operations group supporting the ISS, Orion, and Gateway programs at the Johnson Space Center. Responsibilities:
- Responsible for cross training lower-level system administrators, and providing expert support to the contract.
- Responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems on Windows servers, including web, database, and applications.
- Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software packages.
- Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains IT infrastructure in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Monitors and tunes the systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Ensures server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
- Develops, promotes, and maintains standard operating procedures.
- Will conduct routine hardware and software audits of servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of software, hardware, operating systems and installation procedures.
- May define new hardware, software and upgrade requirements for existing equipment, or requirements recommendations for new equipment.
- Will actively monitor system activity for errors and unauthorized access.
- Will consistently document systems and work instructions.
- The ability to effectively communicate with management and contractor employees is required.
- Provide system support to technology & business teams as needed during development, delivery, & design to guarantee robust, strong, scalable solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates with site and content owners for site creation, development, sustainment
- Ensuring compliance with SharePoint governance policies
- Configures and manages access to SharePoint sites, conforming to business requirements and processes
- Meets with customers to develop tools and solutions to meet customer requirements
- Plans and provides support for SharePoint migrations and upgrades
- Troubleshoots SharePoint site and access issues and assisting with resolution
- Provides SharePoint training and develops documentation and reference guides
- Attends SharePoint Community of Practices meetings and advocates on behalf of the programs supported
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience as a SharePoint Developer in the analysis, design, hands-on development, and delivery of SharePoint Sites
- Client-facing communication skills with the ability to present business cases, strategies, and solutions in a team environment
- Experience translating functional requirements to system requirements
- Working knowledge of SharePoint Designer, HTML/JavaScript/CSS
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SharePoint Online, Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI), and Microsoft Project
- Experience using JIRA to track and monitor planned work
- Working knowledge of the software development life cycle
- Experience should include developing and following I.T. procedures and/or work instructions.
Education and Relevant Work Experience:
- A CS/CIS degree w/5+ years of experience or a related technical degree or the equivalent of 10 years of related experience. Must have a minimum 3 years as a Windows System Administrator
