Senior Analyst, Sustainability Finance

The External Reporting team is responsible for providing clear, complete, accurate and consistent financial and sustainability information to both internal and external stakeholders. The Senior Analyst, Sustainability Finance will support this mission by leveraging strong project management, attention to detail and ability to collaborate as a business partner with various teams across the broader organization. The Senior Analyst, Sustainability Finance will be responsible for collecting quantitative and qualitative sustainability data from across the company as well as compiling this information for reporting in compliance with various sustainability regulations such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), EU Taxonomy, SEC, other global sustainability and government reporting requirements and company polices, as they play an important role in ensuring accurate and timely external reporting.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS



  • Collect quantitative and qualitative sustainability data within various sustainability systems

    • Liaison with and leverage various teams across the broader, global, organization to collect data timely using various sustainability systems
    • Organize data, metrics, and other qualitative information for use in sustainability reporting
    • Identify and implement ongoing enhancements to the data collection process
    • Focus on completeness and accuracy to maintain effective internal controls over information used in sustainability reporting

  • Assist with preparation of the Company's sustainability reporting in compliance with CSRD, CSDDD, EU Taxonomy, California Sustainability Laws, SEC Requirements, and other global sustainability reporting requirements

    • Utilize the company's sustainability reporting application for preparation of sustainability reporting
    • Prepare various tie-outs to company records for completeness and accuracy
    • Maintain an organization-focused mindset with the ability to effectively track progress against various project plans

  • Perform month-end and quarter-end close procedures over ESG data

    • Apply procedures to ensure complete and accurate ESG data, including developing estimates as needed
    • Assist with reconciliations between source systems and various sustainability systems
    • Consolidate data and perform comparable analyses of data across comparable periods to identify trends and outliers for investigation

  • Monitor emerging sustainability regulations, trends, and issues related to disclosure as necessary to determine applicability to the global enterprise
  • Assist with government reporting responsibilities

    • Complete government surveys and reports in accordance with applicable requirements
    • Help maintain government reporting tracker to ensure deadlines are met
    • Coordinate across the business as needed

  • Contribute to team success through participation in projects and non-routine transactions as needed.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:



  • Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting, finance, sustainability, analytics, or related field


Preferred:



  • Certified Public Accountant


KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

2-3+ years of experience in:



  • Reporting Regulation Knowledge - Ability to apply knowledge of rules and regulation to maintain records, prepare reports, and comply with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as apply the rules and regulations governing sustainability reporting for the industry/division/enterprise.
  • Internal Controls - Ability to use understanding of practices and procedures that are in place to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of information and transactions.
  • Data Analysis - Ability to interpret data, such as carbon emissions, performance metrics and other ad hoc data, and identify trends and patterns in data, and translate them into meaningful insights.
  • IT Systems & Digital Literacy - Stay current on continually transforming sustainability and cross-functional systems/platforms to support sustainability regulations, gain insights and drive innovative, timely, and prudent recommendations.
  • Project Management - Ability to remain organized given multiple priorities running concurrently through the use of technology, note taking and effective delegation while being able to clearly articulate status, including successes and challenges faced by the department.


Preferred:



  • Public accounting experience, particularly Big 4
  • Sustainability reporting experience
