Farnsworth Group is seeking a Project Landscape Architect in either our Tinley Park, Lisle, or Chicago, IL office. In this role, you will have the responsibility for executing the design concept of a project through construction documents. The PLA must understand and keep an eye on the big picture, while simultaneously being entrenched in the details. The success of a project relies on the clarity, completeness, accuracy, and overall quality of our project documents.
Job Activities:


  • Assist with the planning, design and permitting of landscape architecture, civil engineering, land development and planning projects
  • Prepare site work cost estimates and zoning analyses
  • Determine the feasibility of projects based on the analysis of collected data
  • Write and review draft reports, including feasibility studies, proposals and technical specifications
  • Plan, schedule and develop task and project budgets
  • Prepare progress reports and draft change orders
  • Perform and manage multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines; minimize write-offs by keeping projects on budget


Specific Requirements include:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program
  • Professional Landscape Architect (PLA)
  • 8+ years of related professional experience
  • LEED AP or similar sustainable accreditation preferred
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Capability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision required
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and organizational skills required
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit all levels of personnel and management
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment
