ORC is seeking a full-time, exempt Right of Way Assistant Project Manager to work on projects based in Michigan. The selected candidate must live within an hour commute from our Livonia, MI office. This role will have the flexibility to work from home after training but must be able to report to the ORC Livonia, MI office as requested. What you will be doing: As our Assistant Right of Way Project Manager, you will assist in managing complex, federally funded public sector Right of Way projects. You will perform task work to include but not limited to acquisition/relocation activities. You'll work alongside the Project Manager (PM), our amazing clients and other members of the Right of Way team to make sure their projects are executed seamlessly, from start to finish. From ensuring the right scope of work is in place to tracking and monitoring the project budget and financial requirements, you'll have your hands in every part of the project lifecycle. But that's not all! You'll also be building relationships with key vendors and agencies, pursuing new business development opportunities, and supporting our recruiting efforts. As the day-to-day manager of the project, you'll be responsible for keeping us on track, from timely project reporting to sending invoices to our clients. And if that weren't enough, you'll also be managing our team of direct reports, making sure everyone is performing at their best and ensuring the project stays on schedule. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to clearly communicate and exchange information in person, via phone and email. Substantial repetitive movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers due to high computer usage and typing. Expected to spend long spans of time in front of a computer screen. Able to read, understand and interpret department related documents and data. The employee is required to move about inside the office to access files, office equipment and to interact with other members of the staff. This role requires the employee to occasionally travel to meet with clients or vendors which involves time driving; sometimes for long durations. While meeting with clients and vendors, will need to be outdoors traversing different types of landscapes. May be exposed to the elements (heat, rain, snow, cold).
