Plant Manager - South Terminal
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (SUMMARY)
Reporting directly to the Site Operations Leader, the Plant Manager is a key leader for the North American operations overseeing a fast-paced, customer facing manufacturing facility. The role will focus on production demands, driving continuous improvement initiatives and increasing employee engagement.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
B.A. or B.S degree in Operations, Engineering, Industrial Technology Management, Business or a related discipline or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Kind & Length of Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field of study
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in General Management, Plant Management, or Operations Management with full plant and operations (P&L) responsibility
- High EQ and embody the qualities of a servant leader
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO)
- Strong experience in the implementation and measurement of continuous improvement and lean methodologies
- Experience working in regulated industries and familiar with contract manufacturing highly preferred
- Six Sigma and Lean certifications highly preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of safety programs, OSHA standards and federal regulations for safety
- Strong with Microsoft suite of products
- Experience working in a global organization preferred
PERFORMANCE MEASURES AND STANDARDS
- A purveyor of a continuous improvement culture fostering an environment of curiosity, a scientific approach to problem solving, commitment to excellence, customer focus, leadership support, learning and development, high employee morale and engagement, and employee retention
- Lead plant operations to ensure customer expectations are met through production efficiency, quality, and cost-effective management of resources
- Oversee daily business operations with an emphasis on safety, quality, people, service, and cost
- Lead by example and establish expectations that drive and reinforce proactive safety behaviors at every level of the organization
- Manage/Lead the facility to achieve the budgeted operating profit and working capital targets.
- Identify production and process challenges, develop action plans and implement processes to improve business function
- Provide leadership and support for continuous improvement projects and successfully enable scalability to achieve the goals of meeting optimizing production through-put, meeting quality requirements and achieving cost initiatives
- Manage and develop direct reports including constructing and implementing development plans, creating a succession plan and career pathing for direct reports
- Lead Monthly site leadership team meetings to evaluate the business performance, measure improvement and identify new improvement opportunities.
- Use KPI's to measure progress and as leading indicators to drive the right activity and behavior in the plant
- Meet the statutory, regulatory and compliance requirements for the plant.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations for direct reports and ensure that the same is done consistently at all levels of the plant
- Assist in the development, implementation, and execution of a rolling three-year plan that aligns with the strategic objectives of the company
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to deliver customer requirements through optimizing production capacities, cost effectiveness and on-time delivery of projects
