Simulation Operations Specialist
Position Overview: The Simulation Operation Specialist (SOS) plays an integral role on the nursing education team ensuring that all simulation equipment is maintained, set up, stored, and cleaned for each student simulation scenario. The SOS will also have responsibility over the student lab; maintaining all supplies, set up, tear down based on the curriculum. The individual will have responsibility for stocking and ordering simulation and skill lab supplies. This candidate will possess an exceptional communication skill as they will be interacting with faculty and students routinely. This position reports to the Nursing Program Chair. This position is a part-time role initially with opportunity to become a full-time position.
Essential Duties:
- Provides support in the use of simulation in healthcare settings
- Prepares and maintains lab equipment and materials related to simulation
- Operates patient simulators for the duration of simulations
- Sets up and tears down rooms in preparation for various simulations
- Collaborate with lab faculty to set up and organize skills lab
- Maintains current knowledge of simulation equipment catalogs and operation manuals
- May operate and maintain audio/visual equipment
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree: Preferred
- 2 years Two or more years of experience working in simulation in an education institution or equivalent setting: Preferred
Competencies:
- Expressed interest in healthcare simulation along with pursuing healthcare simulation knowledge and education
- Understanding of AV systems software
- Use of PC, the Internet, simulation equipment, and basic nursing equipment
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and teamwork and ability to work independnelty and be self-motivated
Working Conditions:
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, filing cabinets, and other office equipment typically found in such an environment. Exceptions to this environment are indicated below (i.e.: noise exposure, exposure to natural elements, etc.). Exceptions: This position operates in a professional office environment.
