JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Equity Officer Chicago Police Department Equity and Engagement Number of Positions: 2 (Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval) The Equity Officer will support key projects and programs that promote equity within the Chicago Police Department (CPD), including implementing the CPD's Equity Plan and Racial Equity Action Plan. This role will involve collecting and analyzing data to identify trends, assess progress, and pinpoint areas for improvement. The Equity Officer will provide insights and recommendations on policies and practices to foster inclusivity and fairness within the CPD. Additionally, this position will collaborate with community stakeholders to facilitate transparent communication about CPD reforms, helping to build trust and foster positive community relationships. Michigan Ave, Chicago Il 60653 Days: Monday - Friday Hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm (call out, as needed) Salary: $80,472/year (non-negotiable) THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree, plus two (2) years of work experience in the administration of diversity, equity, racial, and/or social justice programs; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience provided the minimum degree requirement is met. Disclaimer - "Accredited" means any nationally or regionally accredited college, university, or law school where the applicant is enrolled in or has completed an Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or Juris Doctorate degree program. NOTE: You must provide your transcripts or diploma, professional license, valid State of Illinois driver's license, or training certificates at time of processing, if applicable. If you received your degree internationally, all international transcripts/diploma must be accompanied by a Foreign Credential Evaluation. SELECTION REQUIREMENTS This position requires applicants to complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the interview will be selected. Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:
