BID/JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Clinical Therapist III Chicago Fire Department Number of Positions: 1 (Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval) Starting Salary: $84,972 annually This position is funded through a grant and this employment opportunity is contingent on the availability and continuation of the grant supporting this position. The City will provide sufficient notice when the grant and employment opportunity expires. This position is open to the public and all current City employees covered under the City's collective bargaining agreement with AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME) - BARGAINING UNIT 1, 3, 4 & 5. Additional duties may be required for this position. Location: Chicago Fire Department Address: 1338 S. Clinton Avenue, Chicago, IL Shift: 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday (on call 24/7 as needed) THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Psychology or Social Work, plus three years of professional mental health experience; or a Master's degree in Guidance and Counseling, Vocational Rehabilitation, Pastoral Counseling, Art Therapy, or Educational Psychology, plus one year post-master's supervised practicum carried out in a mental health setting, as well as three additional years of professional mental health experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience, provided that the minimum degree requirement is met Licensure, Certification, or Other Qualifications Possession of one or more of the following: Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and/or Licensed Professional Psychologist (LCP). SELECTION REQUIREMENTS This position requires applicants to complete an interview which will include a written exercise and/or a skills assessment test as part of the interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral and written parts of the interview will be selected. Department of Human Resource staff will review applications after the final posting date. Staff will follow any and all required Employment/Hiring Plan provisions, federal, state and local laws, and Collective Bargaining Agreements when applicable.
