Position: Japanese Bilingual Accounting Administrative Staff
Location: Torrance, CA (Hybrid Remote)
Work Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm (Can be Flexible)
FSLA Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time, Direct Hire
OVERVIEW:
A global trading company is seeking a Japanese Bilingual Accounting Administrative Staff to manage and coordinate accounting functions with some administrative support. This role consists of approximately 70% accounting and 30% administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of accounting experience and proficiency in business-level Japanese, including reading and writing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT ARE LIMITED TO:
Coordinate and perform bank reconciliations, monthly closing activities, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Provide support for administrative and human resource functions.
Record, track, and analyze financial transactions related to international logistics activities.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of sales invoices, purchase orders, and other AP/AR transactions.
Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger journal entries.
Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and internal financial controls.
Manage and monitor cash management activities.
Perform monthly and year-end close processes, preparing financial statement analyses and reports.
Support tax preparation, corporate reporting requirements, and the audit process.
Perform additional duties as requested by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Language Skills: Japanese bilingual proficiency required (business-level reading and writing).
Experience: Minimum two years of accounting experience required; experience in trading or international logistics accounting is a plus.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting systems (D365 experience preferred); understanding of both Japanese and U.S. accounting terms.
Attributes: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
