Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Finance will work to identify and mitigate transactional issues with internal and external processes to improve how AIT interacts with customers, vendors and other stakeholders. This person will work closely with various Finance departments including Accounts Payable, Treasury and Accounts Receivable, interacting routinely with its leaders along with the Global Account Management group. Key to this role will be providing financial and large-data-digestion expertise to operational resources, which should correlate to identifying the root cause of issues. This person will also be accountable for suggesting process improvements and implementing solutions along with controls to identify issues in a proactive manner, resulting in reduced errors and defects, reductions of labor-intensive work, while increasing the customer experience.



Responsibilities

    Evaluation of stale invoices for large global customers to address collections issues
  • Develop reporting tools to identify problems before the invoices become stale
  • With the assistance of Financial, Planning & Analysis, access large shipment level data and analyze the data to provide insights into process issues on a much more efficient timeline than is being done manually
  • Partner with Accounts Receivable collectors and Accounts Receivable Leadership to develop more efficient evaluation of receivables issues
  • Work closely with Global Account Management to provide data and financial skills to more efficiently address billing disputes, invoices not received or other issues resulting in slow collections, customer frustration or other issues
  • Analyzing large sets of data by creating excel based, PowerBI based or other technology tools in validating bills against rate sheets, tariffs or auto rating tools to prevent billed items from being uncollectible or stale.
  • Help develop process improvements on cash applications and advance automations.
  • Develop proactive reporting for Accounts Payable to identify vendor billing issues. Provide root cause analysis and troubleshoot both internal and external (vendor) processes to ensure automated processing.
  • Support Accounts Payable leadership in process improvement initiatives to ensure the most efficient processes while safeguarding AIT from fraud.
  • Support various adhoc requests, ensuring transactional processing aligns with financial reporting.
  • Support various routine troubleshooting requests. Monitor repeat requests to identify if permanent solutions are needed.
  • Support acquisition integration planning.


Qualifications

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or related field.

Experience Qualifications

  • 10-15 years' work experience in transportation and logistics

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to handle interpersonal disputes, allocate work appropriately, ideate around how processes can be improved, or reports can be developed to make others responsible for the details more efficient in addressing underlying issues
  • Previous experience reporting to or communicating with senior leadership
  • Previous experience with TMS systems, including but not limited to Worldport (AS400) and CargoWise.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to develop new ideas and innovative solutions
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to work with extremely large data sets
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
  • Efficient time management/organization skills
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a professional and concise manner
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
