Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a WAN Network Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.

This position will be a hybrid role, based near Kearneysville, WV, or Alexandria, VA.

The qualified applicant will become part of Peraton's United States Coast Guard (USCG) IMS Program. This initiative is modernizing and consolidating the operational environment under a common technology framework in order to better support the services provided to USCGs customers. As part of the modernization program, the WAN Network Architect will be responsible for providing architecture and development guidance across the hardware and software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements definition and prototyping, network design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

    Implement wide area networks, network servers, hubs, routers, network monitoring tools, and various computer peripherals.
  • System Access Controls and Network Security implementation.
  • STIG remediation and compliance using tools such as Cisco DNAC, etc.
  • Expert proficiency in the following routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, and DMVPN to ensure smooth data flow and redundancy across the network.
  • Check and enhance WAN performance and fix any problems using tools such as Riverbed, IXIA, Wireshark, NetBrain, etc.
  • Document network configuration and hardware/software-related operating procedures.
  • Develop and implement standardized documentation templates for structured writing, and detailed network diagrams for all engineers to easily troubleshoot issues.
  • Leverage knowledge of multiple networking protocols during installation and maintenance of networks to troubleshoot and successfully resolve problems.
  • Implement a disaster recovery procedure and configuration management and accountability of all WAN devices.
  • In depth knowledge of collaboration tools within Microsoft O365.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 12 years experience or Master's degree and 10 years experience or high school diploma/equivalent and 16 years relevant experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship required; must have a current, active Secret (or higher) clearance.
  • Must have experience in network architecture development activities for projects specializing in Zero Trust, IPv6, Cisco routers, switches, wireless, SDWAN, and firewalls etc.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools like Riverbed, IXIA, Wireshark, and NetBrain.
  • Strong understanding of Cisco DNAC for STIG remediation and compliance.
  • Familiarity with WAN disaster recovery procedures and configuration management.
  • Must have proven leadership capabilities in developing and conducting enterprise scale network upgrade projects involving various hardware and network software support systems.

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
