Cloud Engineer Team Lead

Peraton is seeking a Cloud Engineer Team Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This position is responsible for leading a team of cloud engineers to architect and develop innovative cloud-based solutions. The Team Lead will design and implement the whole life-cycle functions of the programs required on the cloud. This role involves developing the processes, optimization, and risk management tools.

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

Lead a team of cloud engineers
• Mentoring junior staff is likely to be a portion of your responsibilities
• Deploying, debugging, and executing initiatives related to cloud computing
• Designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based systems, ensuring efficient data storage and adherence to security policies
• Migrating applications and systems to the cloud
• Configuring cloud infrastructure components like networking and security services
• Creating the applications and databases that perform on the cloud
• Monitoring cloud management and data storage services
• Managing a cloud environment and debugging activities throughout development
• Interacting with clients, providing cloud support, and making recommendations based on client needs
• Collaborates and identifies cloud solutions with technical teams
• Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-based process difficulties

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor degree and 8 years' experience or Associate degree and 10 years' experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 12 years' experience
• U.S. Citizenship required; Must have the ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance
• Proven experienced Technical Team Lead with mastery of cutting-edge cloud solutions and architectures.
• Experience working as a cloud engineer
• Extensive experience working in AWS, Azure, and/or VMWare environments.
• Strong experience with IAC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes.
• Experience developing Bash/Python scripts and templates necessary for resource provisioning to occur automatically
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in an Agile software development environment
• Experience with Java, Jenkins, REST API development
• Experience with web development frameworks, database technologies, web services, and/or web application servers
• Discovering and implementing industry-standard cloud service offers, as well as processes and standards that ensure the most efficient use of cloud service provider products
• Prior experience providing mentoring to junior personnel
• Ability to anticipate problems and take decisive action and an ability to find innovative ways to solve problems
