Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Microsoft Windows Engineer Team Lead with experience with Wintel to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This individual is responsible for leading the Core Services team for operations and engineering of Wintel servers.

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

    Lead and mentor the Core Services Wintel team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical guidance and direction, ensuring that Wintel engineering solutions meet quality standards and best practices.
  • Identify areas for improvement in Wintel engineering processes and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and technologies to drive innovation within the team.
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with Wintel engineering projects to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Communicate status of ongoing work and any issues that arise to upper management in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree and 2 years' experience or Associate degree and 4 years' experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 6 years' experience
  • U.S. Citizenship required; Must have the ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance
  • Experience with IT infrastructure
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
  • Strong understanding of change, release, and configuration management, and their interaction
  • Knowledge of Client business environment and requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and use of judgment
  • Ability to work effectively in a distributed work environment/self-starter

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ServiceNow
  • Experience with Monitoring systems (SolarWinds, SCOM), Exchange, M365, SharePoint, Unix, Mac OS, Mobility, Active Directory, Account management, etc.
  • Knowledge of security fundamentals
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals
  • Knowledge of cloud operations
  • Possess an Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations 4 certification or the ability to obtain within one month

Target Salary Range

$51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
