Position Title: Paralegal (Economic Development) (Fixed-Term Benefited)

Minimum Requirements:



  • Education: Two-year associate's degree or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years related experience. Requires a working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment and procedures.


Preferred / Desirable Qualifications:



  • Experience in a municipal or government setting.
  • Associate's degree or certification in Paralegal Studies
  • Experience in a law office setting functioning as a paralegal

The purpose of this paralegal position is to provide paraprofessional office support to the economic development attorney, with a strong focus on legal analysis. Responsibilities include gathering information relevant to various City departments, conducting legal research using Westlaw and other resources, proofreading and editing legal documents and communications, and interpreting cases, laws, legal writings, or other documents to prepare legal memoranda, analyses, and summaries for attorneys. The position may also assist with administrative matters, hearing preparation, organization, and calendaring.

The ideal candidate will have:



  • Experience conducting legal research using Westlaw and other resources
  • Excellent research skills
  • Experience in a municipal or government setting
  • An associate's degree or certification in Paralegal Studies
  • The ability to multitask
  • A strong interest or experience in land use, economic development, real estate, and related legal topics.


Please note this is a Fixed-Term (Contract) position that is eligible for benefits.
